KidZlab helps young audiences acquire artistic digital literacy, thus equipping future generations with digital tools and revitalizing their ways of learning new technologies. Our workshops encourage young users and their elders to develop a critical perspective on digital issues through independent, hands-on practice that fosters learning and experimentation.

KidZlab offers a series of digital art workshops for children age 4 to 18 and their families, as well as for schools and community groups, encouraging participants to explore the creative and imaginative potential of digital art in its various forms. Developed by artists and mediators, these workshops introduce participants to making and creating, while raising awareness about new digital art forms: electronic art, sound art, video mapping, stop motion animation, and video games.

Organized by perte de signal and combining online and in-person fun activities and creative workshops, KidZlab offers children the tools and means to understand the possibilities of digital technologies in a creative universe that pushes the limits of their imagination.

Connect to our experimental lab for the imagination! For this edition, KidZlab goes virtual to offer digital art workshops in various formats, exclusively developed by artists and mediators for children age 4 to 18!

In 2022, KidZlab invites itself into the classroom to offer a set of digital arts workshops for students to help them experience the creative and imaginative potential of digital art and its variations. More details on kidzlab.org/ecole

KidZlab.org also offers three modes of digital learning:

  • tutorials in the form of demo videos that kids can follow at their own pace in classrooms or at home to help them make small devices
  • courseware workshops that provide hands-on practice of digital software (sound art, video games) through creative projects
  • online workshops with video conference instruction.

By moving online, our experimental lab continues to offer kids, teens, and their teachers in francophone communities all over the globe the free tools and means for exploring the possibilities of digital technologies. Through comprehensive learning guides, participants will develop in a creative universe that pushes the limits of their imagination.
