It is a great pleasure to welcome Stephanie Castonguay among our members.
In her art practice, Stephanie Castonguay addresses the concepts of memory and randomness manifesting themselves in the encounter between media archeology and electronic tinkering. Performed in a DIY (do-it-yourself) approach, her electronic and sound installations explore the processes as revealing phenomenons, referring to the physicality and sensitivity of their demonstrated materiality. She holds a BA in Visual and Media Arts at UQAM. She has presented her work at the Biennale International des Arts Numériques and Place des Arts, and has given workshops at Eastern Bloc and Studio XX. Since 2013, she has been involved in the project Sondes, for which she has given workshops in Tunis (Tunisia) and Casablanca (Morocco). She has also participated in a collaborative residency at the Ker Thiossane center in Dakar (Senegal). This spring, Stephanie is completing an “Emerging Project” residency at PERTE DE SIGNAL.
